FULL BIOGRAPHY

Evelyn Marie Shantz writes crime fiction about women whose memories, work and desire are treated as property by people with more power. Born in Racine, Wisconsin, she spent more than twenty years investigating complaints and reviewing misconduct before turning to fiction. That experience shaped her interest in coercion, credibility and what institutions choose to overlook.

Her published books include The Six Days Before, Timberline Road and The Last Solos. No Angel Came: Four Stories arrives October 1, 2026. Shantz writes from a queer perspective, with explicit sexual detail, precise violence and consequences that continue after the scene ends. She lives in Wisconsin with her partner.
